Play :: Creative Sequencing for a Flowing Practice | A 50-hour YTT Immersion

Break away from the past and future and just see what exists in the here and now. Play is exploring and discovering the moment, with a certain level of non-attachment to outcome.

There are a number of ways to sequence a yoga practice, but the most powerful sequences come from within, when we let go of the formulas and begin to play, operating from a place of curiosity and enjoyment instead of slogging through the prescribed motions. In this immersion we will look at traditional methods of sequencing, understand their purpose and benefits, and in addition we will dive deep into sequencing from your intuition. There will be an emphasis in meeting the asana where you are in the moment, teasing out its essence and playing with its lines, discovering the edges for your body and how to recognize them in your students. Understand how to prepare your body for asana and how to recover with counter postures and restorative variations that allow for deeper recovery. Seamlessly incorporate the five key elements of deepening postures safely into your practice and your classes. You will not only know a number of ways to sequence your yoga class or practice, you will be confident in your understanding of WHY your sequence is designed as it is.
